As I was very afraid of labour and actually giving birth, I knew that I wanted a doula to be part of my birth team. Steph was recommended to us by a friend, and from from our first conversation I knew that I wanted Steph to be there. Steph was with us the whole way, from preparation of a birth plan and regular contact before the birth, in the room with us thoughout the entire labour (a long, 18 hour day!) and also, very importantly, (particularly being away from our family), providing support during the post natal period - assistance with breast feeding, advice on how to settle our baby, tips for coping with parenthood and even a special visit to help with bathing our baby after he cried the whole way through his first bath at home.

Thanks to Steph we can say that our first birth experience was extremely positive and we have only fond memories of our son's birth and early weeks.

I find it heart-wrenching to put into words my feelings about Complete Healthcare International at Rochester Park and in particular, describing how I feel about Stephanie, our treasured Well Baby Nurse.

Our story begins with my very precious seven-day-old baby, so distraught by hunger he couldn’t feed, nor sleep, and me, a brand new Mummy, sporting a cleavage matched only by anxiety of equally cataclysmic proportions.

Stephanie met us as we got out of the cab, welcomed us into the clinic and squealed, ‘Ohh, I love them when they’re so new and tiny!’. From that day forth, Stephanie helped my hungry little fellow and I find our rhythm.

Today, my little man’s thriving and the troubles we encountered in his first week seem a very distant memory. It gives me great confidence knowing that Stephanie and the team at CHI are there to support us through the delirious adventure that is parenthood.
