  • 2h50 min to reach the summit after 2500m of steps, and rock climbing,
  • Dubbed as ‘The World’s Toughest Mountain Race’, this race is a true challenge to the spirit of human endurance.
  • The average climber takes two days to climb the mountain but participants of the race can make it in less than 3 hours up and down Mt. Kinabalu (4095.2m), with a total distance of 21km for all Men and Women.
  • Surprisingly the way up was not the toughest part…
  • The worse was to run down. Once I did touch the sky, I was number 10 amongst all women, and I thought now it is up to me to bring back more than USD 500, to support Emily in buying the chair… the 3rd prize being $3500 I was very optimistic!
  • RUNING DOWN IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE since I do run, but running down in French mountain or Italian’s Alps is running still… not jumping from step to step.
  • The incline is average of 29%!!! the incline grade is 16, knowing that a vertical is 45 with 100%.

This was the most frightening run I ever did, each step is an occasion to fall, to slip and to down fall for more than 2 meters.

So far after 5h11min I cross the finish line, still running with the music going on and warm applause from the Malay audiences, which I am sincerely thankful for giving me this moment of true success.

Emily has been part of the race all the way, each time my strength was diminishing I was thinking …no matter how I will finish without stopping, so did I.

Many thanks to you all for your trust and the support you all grant me.

This was really more than just race, receiving each of you small words, and active support thru Emily fund raising helps me to develop my purposefulness and achieve this challenging but amazing journey.

For your information and just for fun, I will be doing the Swisshotel Vertical Marathon on the 20th November 2011… cannot stop la!
